The buyer’s use of the unit decides the route.

Indonesia permits international carbon transactions, but authorization is not uniform. The core diligence question is whether the outcome will be used toward another country’s NDC or another international obligation.

Three routes

These are operating maps for diligence, not substitutes for project-specific ministry guidance.

Route 01

Voluntary international — no CA

Base route for durable-removal buyers making voluntary claims that do not satisfy another country's NDC or international obligation.

Classification letter

Obtain written confirmation of the lead sector, national documents and competent ministry.

Define whether the buyer may make NDC, compliance or corresponding-adjusted claims—and who bears failure risk.
